The Texas Secretary of State has announced a significant expansion of its Texas Express expedited filing service, now offering same-day and next-day processing for a broader range of business filings, including new business formations and out-of-state registrations.
The enhancement builds on the initial rollout of Texas Express in 2025 and comes as Texas continues to see record levels of business activity, with more than 3 million active businesses operating statewide.
“The ability to act quickly, especially when starting a business, can lay the groundwork for success,” said Secretary of State Jane Nelson. “Our office has created options for entrepreneurs and investors who are ready to start doing business today.”
Under the expanded program, businesses can now expedite filings such as certificates of formation, amended registrations, and reinstatements. Same-day service is available for documents submitted by 12:00 p.m., with processing completed by the close of business that day. Next-day service applies to filings submitted by the same deadline, with completion by the end of the following business day.
The cost for expedited processing is $750 per document for same-day service and $500 per document for next-day service, in addition to standard filing fees.
State officials emphasized that formal business registration is often a prerequisite for securing financing, leasing commercial space, and hiring employees, making faster processing a key advantage for entrepreneurs and companies looking to establish or expand operations in Texas.
“Formally creating a business is the first step often necessary before applying for financing, securing office space, or making the first hire,” Nelson said. “We are offering the option for Texas businesses to file as quickly as possible so they can get on with the business of business.”
The expanded services must be completed in person at the Secretary of State’s office located at 400 W. 15th Street in Austin. Filers are encouraged to notify the office in advance via email and to use preclearance review to ensure documents meet submission requirements.
The expansion reflects a broader effort by the Secretary of State’s office to streamline operations, reduce administrative delays, and improve transparency for businesses of all sizes.

The move underscores Texas’ continued focus on maintaining a competitive, business-friendly environment as more companies choose the state for incorporation and relocation.
