Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson has announced that the state has reached a record number of registered voters, with 18,623,931 Texans set to vote in the upcoming November 5, 2024 election.
"This is a record number and is on target considering population growth and the increased interest around presidential elections," Secretary Nelson stated.
The 2024 voter registration count marks a 5% increase from the 17,672,143 registered voters ahead of the November 2022 election. The last day to register in time for the November election was October 7. As part of its efforts to support the election process, the Office of the Secretary of State is conducting a statewide voter education campaign to inform Texans on how to register, key election deadlines, and how to prepare for voting.
Early voting will begin on Monday, October 21, and continue until November 1. During this period, Texans can vote at any polling location within their registered county. For further details, including polling locations and the required forms of identification, voters are encouraged to visit VoteTexas.gov, the state’s official voting resource.
